Droids Do Not Cry

Hi Sam
And thanks for you story.  We will be putting together a new Androids Book in a few months and will consider your story for that book although it sounds like the ending might not be a happy one.  Is this a Sci- Fi Romance or is it a Sci-Fi Tragedy story?  Thanks

Ambush in Amber

Dear H;
Attached, please find a story for Paranormal Romance, “Ambush in Amber.” It was
written for the artwork at
http://www.paranormalromance2.com/images/PR2-41.JPG

It is a story of the pre-Dynastic Nile (circa 7,000 B.C.). Pereshet, princess of
Elephantine, lives a pampered existence, flirting with the captain of the guard,
a deposed noble. Her life changes when a caravan arrives from the mysterious
city of Ammit in the western desert. It is no ordinary visit by traders, but the
entourage of Ammit’s prince who asks for her hand in marriage. Pereshet,
eavesdropping on the king, falls into the embrace of the guard captain. It is
decided that, with the Great River threatened by a usurper, a marriage to a
distant land is out of the question. The prince of Ammit accepts the king’s
rejection. But the people of that desert land are hardly people at all.  The
grand vizier of Ammit drugs the palace at night with poison incense, leaving
Pereshet in the hands of the monstrous prince.  With the guards dispatched, the
princess is left to fight the desert fiend alone.

I hope you enjoy this story, and accept it for Paranormal Romance.

Thanks very much;

Kiwi

Horse Thieves

Thanks Pat that works out good for us since the story didn´t have a damsel in distress needing rescue we would not have been able to use the story anyway.

Having said that,  we would welcome another story submission from you.

Cheers and congradulations on the sale of your story.

H
Dear H

On 3/6/08 I submitted a story, "The Horse Thieves," for publication in Man's Story 2. I have since sold "The Horse Thieves" elsewhere. I hereby withdraw my submission for publication in Man's Story 2.

Thanks again.

Dragon Chamber

Hi

Okay here´s the deal and lots of writers get discouraged because of it.  IT takes us several months (sometimes as many as 6) to get a book together and out to the public.  Since we do not pay until publication sometimes the writer thinks he (or her) has been ripped off.  Others simply loose interest.  But getting the stories together, getting the art together, getting the book printed and distrubuted - it takes a long time and it´s expensive. (We do not make much of a profit doing this and on several books we are a long way from even breaking even.

At the moment we have a very large archive of submitted stories.  But we always choose stories from what we refer to as our: Prefered Writers List.  These writers (like yourself) we know we can always depend on for a good story that does not require much (if any) editing.  Other writers on the list to name a few are: C.C. Blake (we can never get enough of his stuff), J. Troy Seate (incredable creative this dude) , Jim Gurley, Patricia McCarthy, and William Malumburge.

We always need stories like the one you just wrote for us.

Hope this helps and answers your questions

Thanks H

Subject: Thank you.

Dear H,

I want to thank you for accepting my story and for the attention on your website.  I enjoy coming up with my own stories, but I have to say working from an inspiration like the art you have is cool too.  It kind of gets the creative juices flowing and gets me thinking about possibilities.  It's a neat challenge.

Thanks for the new art too.  Was I supposed to get more than one picture?  There was a big blank space above "5,000 Beauties" picture, and the line "a few more" made me think there might be another one.  Not a big deal if I'm wrong here; I'm actually starting work later today on a paranormal romance/vampire  story based off PR2-129 on your website.

Okay, I have two other questions, and neither one of these is of terrible importance, but since I have you here I may as well ask now:

1)  I emailed you a Western called Only One Bullet about two months ago.  It went in line with the "Western" art you sent out in the same package as the "Opium Eaters" picture. I'm glad All in the Game is in your next book, but is there any movement on Only One Bullet ?

2)  I mentioned that I'm working on a paranormal romance/vampire story.  I know you're putting out a new Man's Story soon, so my question is this: are there any specific kinds of stories you need right now?  I know you accept submissions for all the magazines all year-round, but I also know you periodically send out calls because you need a certain type of story.  I figured I would ask.

In any event, I want to say thanks for your patience, and I hope you have a good day.  With a little luck I'll have the PR2-129 story ready before too long.

Sincerely,

Robert S. Tyler

Dear H,

I’m pleased to include my 3,909 word short story, The Dragon Chamber, for you to consider for publication under my pen name, Robert S. Tyler.  This story was inspired by the “Opium Eaters Demand Nude Virgins” picture you sent out in your call for submissions for Man’s Story 2 Volume 13.

Matthew Black is a lethal man; the only person he’s ever cared about is his sister Molly, so when the young schoolteacher vanishes from her missionary school in China, Matthew embarks on a bloody mission to find her. When his quest leads him into a barfight the outnumbered Matthew finds an unexpected ally in a young man whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by the Yin-Yang Twins, the same duo responsible for Molly’s abduction.  Together, Matthew and his new friend must infiltrate the lair of the Yin-Yang Twins: the perilous Jade Dragon.  Will they rescue the damsels in time, or will the Yin-Yang Twins have their way and torture the girls for the amusement of their opium-addicted patrons?  Filled with plenty of action and two beautiful girls facing dire peril, I think The Dragon Chamber and its art will work perfectly for your new Man’s Story book if there are still any slots left.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
J.

I am a freelance writer and I teach creative writing.  In addition to The Dragon Chamber, I have completed several short stories, three novels, and I am working on a fourth.  You recently announced my story All In The Game would be published Man’s Story 2: The Cure.  You published my stories The Prisoner and Pretty Poison recently under your Paranormal Romance 2 line.  I will stay in contact through email.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
